As I was going through my morning gratitude session, I realized it was Thursday.  Thankful Thursday.  It rhymes.  Yes.

Today, I am thankful for wrestling.

I am thankful for wrestling because it taught me limitations are not in your body.  It is possible to vomit and workout at the same time.

I am thankful for wrestling because it taught me discipline.  Your success on the mat is a direct reflection of your work ethic, focus, and consistency.

I am thankful for wrestling because it taught me strategy.  When facing an opponent of equal or greater strength and skill, it is possible to win if you put the right moves together.

I am thankful for wrestling because it taught me to be mean.  When all else fails, apply brute strength, grit, and tenacity.

I am thankful for wrestling because it taught me sportsmanship.  It is possible to have the intense desire to pummel another human being, then be friends--or at least gentlemanly toward one another.

I am thankful for wrestling because it taught me leadership.  As a wrestler or coach, the young guys are watching how hard you push yourself.  If you drive to win, so will they.

I am thankful for wrestling because it brought my daughter and I together.  If all of the years of hard work, pain, discipline brought that into my life, it was worth it.

I am thankful for wrestling.

Combat Flip Flops I am thankful for wrestling.
