That’s because the person who just snuck up behind you and went straight to action 12 and dropped your sorry ass was wearing the most comfortable, no break in period, and (most importantly) so quiet and stealthy that your eyeballs are rolling into the back your skull as you gently go into the light. The last thought your brain processes is what kind of foot wear makes zero noise that made it possible for the wearer to sneak on me like that. These are very stylish shoes that I'm happy with so far. The outsole is exactly as advertised with good grip and what seems a durable material & the upper material is breathable and lightweight that makes for a comfortable fit that would be ideal for some downtime after a long day in boots.
Like everything they're not perfect. The provided laces leave allot to be desired. The insole padding is very minimal and it makes them rather uncomfortable to wear on hard pavement for long periods of time. Perhaps Provide a removeable footbed of some kind. Finally, the tongue tends to slide around even with all the laces running through the ribbon down the middle. A partial gusset would prevent that. All together a good product for the price that could be made great with some simple improvements.
I have purchased and worn other much more expensive wide toe box natural walk hiking and footwear and found these are more comfortable and better on the pavement and trail. A uniformed flat sole has no Hot Spots on the heal or ball. Also, the none porous finish does not store dirt and dust. I walked all over Japan and Northern Cali and these can easily pass as casual dress shoes in black.
