I was originally torn between these and a pair of Woobies. I ended up purchasing the Woobies first and wasn’t very impressed. The comfort was not great and while they seem to be holding up fine, the construction just feels cheap.
Fast forward I decided to give these Shadowbans a try. These are easily 2-3 times the quality and more affordable. Nice leather toe/tongue, high quality canvas, and a very comfortable insole. The rubber sole grips great and they are very quiet when walking around.
As a civilian contractor that deploys forward, I've been looking for something that's comfortable, has a wide toe box, and gives boot performance without being a true boot. Look no further. I'm two weeks into war-torn Eastern Africa and couldn't be happier. I've beaten them to death and they barely show any sign of wear. Comfortable as hell; I can wear them all day and feel fine after trekking over 14k steps around base.
My one gripe is they're a little hot. The material is thick, durable, and seemingly waterproof but it also traps heat in fairly well. Be warned.
Only thing that could make this better is a side zipper to make getting in and out of them quick and easy.
These are awesome shoes.
The first pair lasted 27 months in Cambodia, Thailand, and occasionally the US. Part of their resiliency was the shoe shine guys who I’d pay to polish and repair the seams. 4,000,000 or so steps according to my Garmin watch. After moving back to the US, they were my lawn mowing shoes.
The second pair has lasted 18 months and has more than 3,000,000 steps in the US and Eastern Europe. Without the assistance of the shoe shine dudes, they discolored a bit and some of the seams are failing, but they’re still great shoes. As soon as Amazon delivers the Stretchlaces for my new pair, these will be my lawn maintenance shoes.
Customer service at CFF is as amazing as their products.
I don’t know how I feel about the new rubber toes. Maybe they’ll keep my feet drier? We shall see.

Very surprised that the build quality. Made very well, leather soft , feels good to the touch.
Was skeptical thinking it was going to be another flat-footed pair of vans hard on the feet. But not the case! Comfortable insoles are great. Very affordable. I'm a above the knee amputee,so I need flat footed shoes something without a heal rise. Looking forward to seeing how they hold up to some abuse. I need the green pair.
My buddy turned me on to these. After I saw them in person I had to order them. I got these to replace my Danner Tachyons and I don’t even wear my Stalwarts anymore. It’s worth diming them out so people know where I’m coming from. These “shoes” have a comfortable and wide insole and even more ankle support than my Tachyons! Insane. 10/10 on price, fit, and appearance. I even threw on a polish to the toes and it ain’t bad. My only concern is durability and only time will tell. Yes they run a little big so order accordingly.
